Humana Military Wins DOD TRICARE East Region Contract; TriWest Healthcare Alliance Awarded West Region Contract

On December 22, 2022, the Defense Health Agency (DHA) announced it had awarded the next TRICARE contracts, to start in February 2024, to Humana Government Business (Humana Military) and TriWest Healthcare Alliance Corporation (TriWest). The contracts have one base year and eight annual option periods for providing health care and a transition out period. Together the contracts have a total value of $136 billion over the nine-year period. The Humana Military contract is valued at $70.9 billion; it covers 4.6 million beneficiaries across 24 states.
