Humana Ranked Best In Athenahealth 2014 PayerView Rankings

Health insurer Humana was ranked as the top performing payer of the 148 evaluated in the 2014 athenaheath PayerView(R) Report. The top five ranked payers included HealthPartners, BlueCross Blue Shield in Massachusetts, Cigna-HealthSource, and Group Health Collaborative. The five lowest ranked payers are Georgia Medicaid (ranked at 144), Superior Health Plan (ranked at 145), North Carolina Medicaid (ranked at 146), Oklahoma Medicaid (ranked at 147), and Pennsylvania Medicaid (ranked at 148). The rankings are based on days in accounts receivable, denial rates, provider collection burden, and other measures assessing financial, administrative, and transactional performance.
