Idaho Invests $23 Million In Child Welfare & Will Fill 63 New Case Worker Roles
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) has started hiring to fill 63 new case worker roles in its child welfare department to expand the state’s ability to prevent children from entering foster care, as well as ensure that families of children in foster care receive essential and responsive services. These new positions increase the number of Family Services Workers in the state by about 20%, according to a DHW spokesperson. Funding of $23 million for the new positions is through Idaho Bill 1208, which Governor Brad Little signed into law on April 9, 2025.
