Idaho Launches PRTFs To Expand In-State Psychiatric Care For Children & Youth With Complex Mental Health Needs
On March 27, 2023, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) announced grants totaling $15 million had been awarded to three organizations to provide 80 or more psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) beds across the state for children and youth with complex mental health needs. The grantees are Idaho Youth Ranch in southwest Idaho (64 beds, opening August 2023)), Northwest Children’s Home in northern Idaho (less than 10 beds, opening June 2024), and Jackson House in eastern Idaho (24 beds, opening June 2024).
