Idaho Medicaid Implements Behavioral Health Cuts
Idaho Medicaid cut selected behavioral health services as part of an effort to help the state avoid a budget deficit.
As part of the effort to avoid a deficit, the state intended to cut reimbursements for many Medicaid services by 4%, according to a list released in early November 2025. The state’s managed behavioral health organization, Magellan of Idaho, began implementing cuts to specific behavioral health services on December 2, 2025. The cuts affect assertive community treatment, mental health peer support for adults, provider mileage reimbursement, skills training for adults, and behavior modification consultations and services for children.
