Idaho Medicaid Implements Limits On Occupational, Physical & Speech Therapy Sessions
The Idaho Medicaid program implemented limits on the number of occupational, physical, and speech therapy services that may be provided without prior authorization. On January 8, 2026, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) notified clinical professionals and provider organizations that claims for each therapy discipline with dates of service on or after January 1, 2026, will be capped at 20 visits per calendar year. Providers must request prior authorization from the Medical Care Unit for additional visits.
