Illinois DCFS Partners With Casey Family Programs To Develop Reforms For Use Of Residential Care
On February 6, 2015, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) announced it had expanded its partnership with Casey Family Programs to reform the use of residential care. The DCFS plan to reform residential programs comes after public exposure of problems leading to intake holds at four DCFS contracted residential facilities in 2014. The four facilities are Rock River Academy, Lawrence Hall Youth Services, ERIC Family Services, and Cunningham Children's Home. In January 2015, Rock River Academy said it was ending its contract with DCFS.
