Illinois DHS To Implement New I/DD Group Home Rate Methodology That Cuts Service Hours By 8.7%
On April 1, 2024, the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) - Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) will implement a new rate methodology for Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs, also called group homes) for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). The new methodology eliminates 8.7% of total direct support professional (DSP) service hours for the more than 11,000 people living in group home settings, estimated statewide at a cut of 2.5 million DSP hours. In October 2023, IDHS projected that the new methodology would result in a reduction in service hours for 90% of group home residents . . .
