Illinois’ Maryville Academy Plans Mental Health Hospital Closure

On April 1, 2014, Maryville Academy filed plans to close its 125-bed Maryville Behavioral Health Hospital in Des Plaines, Illinois by July 15, 2014. The hospital provides inpatient services to children as young as three years old and young adults up to age 20. The hospital cannot close without approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. The board is scheduled to consider the request at its June 3, 2014 meeting.
