In 2023, 24.3% of U.S. adults had chronic pain, and 8.5% of adults had chronic pain that frequently limited life or work activities (referred to as high-impact chronic pain) in the past three months. Chronic pain affected 23.2% of men and 25.4% of women. About 7.3% of men and 9.6% of women had high-impact chronic pain.
