In Southern California, Social & Behavioral Factors Associated With Diabetes Differ From National Factors
Social and behavioral factors associated with diagnosed diabetes in southern California differ from those at the national level, a recent analysis found. Top factors correlated with diabetes in southern California included physical inactivity, binge drinking, lack of insurance, and food insecurity. Nationally, obesity and being aged 65 years or older aligned more closely with diabetes than in southern California. Lack of physical activity and binge drinking were top factors in both southern California and nationally.
