Indiana Medicaid Standardizes ABA Rates For Autism Therapy
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) is standardizing the Medicaid rate it pays for applied behavior analysis (ABA) for youth with autism to $68 per hour for a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT). Previously, the state did not have a standardized rate. Instead, each provider organization chose an amount to bill the state, and the state paid a percent of those charges. The new rate went into effect on January 1, 2024. The state’s goal is to assign a transparent rate that promotes uniform access for families.
