Indiana Rebidding Medicaid Hoosier Healthwise & Healthy Indiana Plan Managed Care Contracts
On June 7, 2021, Indiana released a request for proposals (RFP) rebidding its Medicaid Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) programs. The annual aggregate contract value is over $6 billion. The contracts will span up to six years. The state intends to contract with four managed care organizations (MCOs).
The incumbents are Anthem, CareSource, Centene/Managed Health Services, and MDwise. The incumbent MCOs served about 1.4 million members as of April 2021. The state predicts that by 2023 enrollment will drop to 1.2 million members, with 680,293 to be enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise and 551,464 . . .
