Intellectual Disabilities Linked With Worse Cancer Survival
Canadian residents with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) were more likely to die from breast, colorectal, and lung cancers diagnosed between 2007 and 2019 than those without I/DD. During the study period, those with I/DD were 2.28 times more likely to die of breast cancer, 2.57 times more likely to die of colorectal cancer, and 1.38 times more likely to die of lung cancer than those without I/DD.
