Iowa Integrated Health Home Program Expands To All Counties On July 1, 2014

On July 1, 2014, the Iowa Medicaid behavioral health Integrated Health Home (IHH) initiative for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) and children with serious emotional disorders (SED) expanded statewide. The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) and the state’s Medicaid behavioral health managed care contractor, Magellan Behavioral Care of Iowa (Magellan) launched the IHH initiative in three phases starting in July 2013 with five counties; the second phase launched in 28 counties in April 2014; and on July 1, 2014, IHH expanded to the remaining 66 counties.
