Iowa Plans To Launch A New Children’s Behavioral Health System
The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) plans to launch a new children’s behavioral health system. The state legislature has started considering Iowa Senate Study Bill 1197, which would implement the recommendations of the Iowa DHS "Children’s System State Board Strategic Plan." The legislation is supported by both the governor, and mental health advocates throughout the state. It is currently unknown how much funding might be needed for the system.
