Jefferson County, Alabama Launches New RESTORE Juvenile Reentry Program

On March 1, 2023, Jefferson County, Alabama (which includes the city of Birmingham) launched a new juvenile justice reentry program called RESTORE. The program provides comprehensive services and support for up to 120 youth ages 16 to 19 who have been placed in state custody for a minimum of 30 days at a Department of Youth Services (DYS) placement, the G. Ross Bell Detention Center, or any DYS diversion facility.
