Kentucky Awards Grants For Jail-Based & Parolee Medication-Assisted Opioid Treatment Programs
On November 10, 2015, the Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) released $3 million in grants to expand access to opioid addiction treatment and to fund medication-assisted opioid treatment (MAT) for state prisoners, county jail inmates, and parolees. The funding was authorized in Kentucky Senate Bill 192, bipartisan legislation passed in the 2015 legislative session aimed at curbing the rise in heroin use and opioid addiction.
