On April 28, 2021, a state judge vacated Kentucky’s Medicaid managed care contracts due to flaws in the procurement process, and ordered the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) to rebid them. The judge said the state refused to consider all aspects of bids and a potential conflict of interest at one of the companies. Additionally, the judge said state officials refused to allow some bidders to make oral presentations. CHFS is reviewing the order to determine the next steps. For the moment, the current contracts will remain in place. The contracts are valued at $8 billion.
