Kentucky Launches Pilot Fostering Success Employment Training Program For Youth Aging Out Of Foster Care
On May 31, 2016, the Kentucky Cabinet of Health and Family Services (CHFS) launched a Fostering Success employment training pilot program, funded by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, for over 100 young adults between age 17 and 23 who are aging out of foster care. The 10-week Fostering Success program places the participants in entry-level positions in local Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) offices around the state. The goal is to help the participants gain skills and experience to prepare them for future employment.
