Kentucky Medicaid To Cover Mobile Crisis Behavioral Health Intervention Teams

On July 20, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Kentucky’s Medicaid state plan amendment (SPA) to add mobile crisis behavioral health services as a state plan benefit. Adding them to the state Medicaid plan ensures that the Medicaid program can reimburse for the services. The SPA goes into effect on October 1, 2023 and will be available statewide.
