Less than 65% of individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) at risk for progression to kidney failure visit a nephrologist within one year of risk determination. Because the analysis occurred using anonymous medical claims records, information was not offered regarding reasons why individuals did not have a nephrology visits. However, it was found that the rate of nephrology visits increased as the five-year risk for progression to kidney failure increases:
