On February 6, 2018, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to create a peer support network for veterans. The network will involve coordination between the Los Angeles County Health Agency, the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, the Community Development Commission; and consultation with the Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, and non-profit stakeholders.

The goal is to leverage the expertise of veterans who have already navigated community integration hurdles that are commonly experienced after separating from the military. These challenges include financial concerns, family issues, substance abuse, justice involvement, homelessness, and feeling alone and isolated . . .
