Los Angeles County Expands Foster Care Pilot To Target Homeless Families
On January 1, 2018, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is expanding a foster care pilot project focused on housing for homeless parents and families living in unstable housing. The pilot is funded in part through the California Department of Social Services (DSS) “Bringing Families Home” (BFH) program. Los Angeles was among 12 county child welfare agencies awarded funding in May 2017 for the DSS BFH program. Los Angeles County was awarded $2.5 million.
