People participating in the Los Angeles County Reentry Intensive Case Management Services (RICMS) pilot program had less contact with the criminal legal system and lower use of emergency medical services during two years of follow-up. During the first year, about 72% of the program participants and 66% of a comparison group did not experience an arrest or jail incarceration. This difference persisted into the second year.
