Los Angeles DCFS Developing Kinship Care Support Program

The Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Service (DCFS) is planning a demonstration project called Relative Support Services (RSS). In the program, DCFS will create partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs) to develop kinship support programs for caregivers. For this project, which is slated to start in 2016, DCFS intends to allocate $1.2 million from its current budget to contract with qualified CBOs to develop the programs and deliver the services.
