Louisiana Releases Medicaid Managed Care RFP With Enhanced Emphasis On Behavioral Health
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is rebidding its Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contracts to serve the state’s approximately 1.7 million Medicaid managed care enrollees. The RFP has an enhanced emphasis on behavioral health services. The request for proposals (RFP 3000017417) was released on June 23, 2021, with proposals due by September 3, 2021. The new contracts are estimated at $9 billion, and are slated to go live on July 1, 2022. The initial term runs for 36 months followed extension options for up to 24 additional months.
