After Maine Adopted Lifetime TANF Limits, 84% More Former TANF Recipients Had Work Records
Among 1,856 individuals who were terminated from Maine's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program in May 2012 because they had reached the program's 60-month lifetime limit, 84% more had work records by 2015 than when they were enrolled. During the four quarters before the 1,856 were terminated from the program, an average of 339 participants per quarter had a wage record.
