Maine Awards Foster Family Recruitment Contract To KidsPeace; Goal Is 10% Increase
On October 5, 2015, KidsPeace launched “A Family for ME,” a new initiative via a contract with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to recruit and support foster parents. The goal for the program is to increase the number of foster families in each DHHS district by 10%. The contract was awarded on April 30, 2015 following a competitive procurement process. The initial 12-month contract term is valued at $428,298 and started on July 1, 2015. The initial term is followed by three optional 12-month renewal periods.
