Maine Governor Proposes Clearing The Section 29 I/DD Waiver Waitlist
On February 3, 2020, Maine Governor Janet Mills issued a supplemental budget proposal to spend $2.6 million to eliminate the current Section 29 waitlist for intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) waiver services by funding more slots. The Section 29 wait list provides support services for people with I/DD and autism. As of January 2020, there were 368 names on this waitlist; another 2,207 were already receiving services.
