Major Depressive Episodes In Adolescents Dropped From 20.8% In 2021 To 15.4% In 2024

The percentage of adolescents ages 12 to 17 reporting suicidal thoughts and depression in the U.S. declined from 20.8% in 2021 to 15.4% in 2024, according to survey results released by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA concluded that intervention and prevention efforts may be having a positive impact on this population.;
