Massachusetts Launches Pay-For-Success Project Focused On Workforce Development For Limited English Speakers
On June 15, 2017, Social Finance announced that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts launched the Massachusetts Pathways to Economic Advancement, a pay-for-success project focused on workforce development to increase employment opportunities for limited English speakers. The Commonwealth selected Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) to provide the workforce development services to about 2,000 adults in the Greater Boston area over three years. Social Finance, the intermediary, raised $12.43 million from investors to fund JVS services. If the outcomes are met, the Commonwealth will make up to $15 million in success payments to the investors.
