Medicare Advantage Beneficiaries Face Longer Hospital Stays Prior To Discharge Than Those With Traditional Medicare
Between 2018 and 2022, hospitalized Medicare Advantage beneficiaries experienced a 16% increase in length of stay (LOS) prior to discharge to a post-acute care (PAC) setting, from 6 days to 7 days. During the same period, traditional Medicare beneficiaries experienced no change in median LOS prior to PAC discharge at five days, a recent study has found.
