Medicare Advantage Home Health Users Had Fewer End-Of-Life Home Health Days Than Those Using Traditional Medicare

End-of-life home health use and duration were lower in Medicare Advantage (MA) than in Traditional Medicaid (TM) in every racial and ethnic group. About 37.5% MA members and 41.7% of TM members had a home health episode in the year they died. The largest difference in home health use during the final year of life was among Hispanic beneficiaries and Asian/Pacific Islander beneficiaries.
