Medicare Advantage Plans Denied 4.1 Million Prior Authorization Requests In 2024
Medicare Advantage plans rejected or partially denied 4.1 million prior authorization requests for medical care in 2024, according to a recent report. The denials represented 7.7% of the nearly 53 million prior authorization requests submitted on behalf of Medicare Advantage enrollees during 2024. During 2023, there were 49.8 million prior authorization requests, and 6.4% were denied.
