Medicare Advantage SNP Enrollment Grows to 7.3 Million in 2024
The percentage of Medicare Advantage members enrolled in a Special Needs Plan (SNP) between 2018 and 2025 increased from 13% to 21%, according to a recent report from KFF, a non-profit organization that publishes policy research, polling, and journalism. The number of beneficiaries enrolled in a Medicare Advantage SNP reportedly increased from 2.6 million in 2018 to 7.3 million in 2025.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services defines three types of SNPs, which are Medicare Advantage coordinated care plans: Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNP), Dual Eligible SNPs (D-SNP), and Institutional SNPs (I-SNP).
