Medicare Joint Replacement Bundled Care Model Generated Net Savings Of $52 Million During Sixth Performance Year
The Medicare Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Model generated net savings of $54.2 million for Medicare during the program’s sixth performance year from October 2021 through December 2022. The 323 participating hospitals performed more than 53,000 lower extremity joint replacement procedures (including knee and hip replacements), with 21,000 conducted as inpatient procedures and 32,000 as outpatient procedures.
