Among 2,000 adults enrolled in pharmacotherapy trials for cocaine or methamphetamine use disorder, 31.2% achieved reduced stimulant use and 13.3% achieved abstinence by the end of their respective trials, according to a recent study. Among those receiving active medication specifically, 32.5% achieved reduced use compared with 29.3% of those receiving placebo, and abstinence rates were 13.6% for active treatment compared with 12.7% for placebo.
