Mercy Maricopa Doubles Mental Health Crisis System Capacity In Phoenix Area
In October 2015, Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care (Mercy Maricopa) announced since May 2015 it has launched a continuum of new mental health crisis services to double its crisis capacity the metropolitan Phoenix area. The new capacity includes 10 new pre-discharge step-down beds, 11 new acute inpatient beds for adults under an involuntary psychiatric hold who also have comorbid conditions, 10 new adult crisis respite beds, 58 new 23-hour crisis observation recliners, and 16 new sub-acute inpatient psychiatric beds.
The expansion involves new services and new sites for existing services in response to a needs assessment conducted . . .
