MHealth Intervention For SMI Produced Same Clinical Outcomes As In-Person WRAP Treatment At Half The Cost
The mHealth FOCUS early intervention program for serious mental illness (SMI) used over three months produced the same clinical outcomes at half the cost of Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) in-person group treatment. The purpose of both interventions is to reduce psychiatric symptom severity, improve recovery rates, and improve satisfaction with treatment. The cost to deliver WRAP averaged $652, per person per month (when the group had 10 participants). The average monthly cost for FOCUS was $337 per person per month.
