Michigan Expands Medicaid Behavioral Health Home Initiative To Five New Counties
On May 1, 2022, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) expanded its Medicaid Behavioral Health Home (BHH) initiative to five new counties. The BHH provider organizations serve Medicaid beneficiaries with a serious mental illness (SMI) or serious emotional disturbance (SED). The BHH functions as the central point of contact for directing consumer-centered care across the broader health care system. The BHH must provide six federally mandated services centered around intensive care management and care coordination.
