Michigan Sued Over Planned Medicaid Work Requirements
On November 22, 2019, a lawsuit was filed to prevent the Michigan Medicaid program from implementing work and community engagement eligibility requirements on January 1, 2020. The new requirements affect beneficiaries aged 19 to 62 years who are enrolled in the Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP). Starting February 2020, affected beneficiaries will be required to report their participation in qualified activities of at least 80 hours per month.
