On June 26, 2026, Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton & Clinton Counties filed a federal lawsuit against officials of the Michigan Department of Health and On June 26, 2026, Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton & Clinton Counties filed a federal lawsuit against the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), the Michigan Attorney General, Mid-State Health Network, and state officials. The complaint alleges that state officials targeted the Catholic ministry and stripped it of a program designation because of its religious beliefs regarding abortion and contraception.
