Middle Class Prefers Assisted Living Over Home Care Or Nursing Homes For Paid LTC
Among middle-class retirees surveyed about their plans for paid long-term care, assisted living scored slightly higher (28%) than use of a professional in-home caregiver (27%), and much higher than nursing homes (11%). For this survey, “middle class” was defined as having annual household income from $50,000 to $199,999, segmented by those in the lower bracket of $50,000 to $99,999 and higher bracket of $100,000 to $199,999.
