Minnesota Medicaid Pauses Payments For 14 ‘High Risk’ Services, Including Behavioral Health & Personal Care
Minnesota Medicaid paused payments for 14 ‘high-risk’ services, including behavioral health and personal care, according to a state announcement. Payments will be paused for up to 90 days during an audit to identify “suspicious billing activity and scrutinize the use of public funds.” The goal is to help safeguard Medicaid dollars. The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) alerted the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services to the audit on October 27, 2025.
The high-risk services include:
Early intensive developmental and behavioral intervention services for autism
Integrated community supports
