Minnesota Medicaid Pauses Payments For 14 ‘High Risk’ Services Including Behavioral Health & Personal Care
Minnesota Medicaid paused payments for 14 ‘high-risk’ services, including behavioral health and personal care, according to a state announcement. Payments for the affected programs will be paused for up to 90 days while an audit is conducted to identify “suspicious billing activity and scrutinize the use of public funds.” The goal is to help safeguard Medicaid dollars before payments are issued. The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) alerted the U.S. Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services to the audit on October 27, 2025.
