On January 18, 2022, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) released a request for proposals (RFP) seeking Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) plans for the state’s Families and Children Medical Assistance (MA) and MinnesotaCare Basic Health programs. These programs are for the 80 counties covering the state outside of the Twin Cities seven-county region. Proposals are due April 1, 2022. The state intends to award contracts to at least two MCOs in each county. The contracts will run for one year beginning on January 1, 2023, with five optional renewal years.
