Minority Students With Disabilities Experience Educational Disparities
Minority children with disabilities experience disparities during their education, when compared with white children. They are identified later in life and are more likely to be misidentified. They are disproportionately recommended for self-contained special education classes. When compared to white students with disabilities, minority children with disabilities are more likely to experience more punitive school-based discipline.
