Montana To Close 53-Bed Developmental Center
On May 6, 2015, Montana Governor Steve Bullock signed legislation, Senate Bill (SB) 411, to close the Montana Developmental Center (MDC) and transition the 53 residents to community-based settings over the next two years. The closure comes after years of documented cases of abuse. MDC is administered by the Disability Services Division (DSD) of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS).
