Montana Ends Limits On Addiction Treatment Capacity In July 2017

Montana is expanding access to addiction treatment by ending a policy as of July 2017 that had limited the number of addiction treatment provider organizations per region to just one. On March 27, 2017, Montana Governor Steve Bullock signed legislation, House Bill (HB) 95, to allow the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) to approve multiple provider organizations per region, starting July 1, 2017. There are currently 28 treatment provider organizations approved by the DPHHS Chemical Dependency Bureau. Across the state's six regions, there are 200 inpatient chemical dependency treatment beds that are operated by seven provider . . .
