Montana Medicaid Seeks Extension Of 1115 Waiver For Additional Services For SMI Consumers
On July 14, 2022, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) submitted a request to extend its Medicaid 1115 demonstration Waiver for Additional Service and Populations (WASP) for five years. The WASP offers standard Medicaid benefits to qualified individuals with severe disabling mental illness (SDMI) who are not otherwise eligible for Medicaid. These beneficiaries are enrolled for 12 months of continuous eligibility and Medicaid services without reporting monthly changes of income or resources.
